Crystal Ocean retired due to injury
Crystal Ocean suffered a career-ending injury on the Newmarket gallops on Thursday morning.
As his preparation for the Champion Stakes at Ascot and also the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe continued the Sir Michael Stoute-trained five-year-old was taking part in a canter.

Peter Stanley, spokesman for owner Sir Evelyn de Rothschild, told the PA news service:”He has had to have two screws inserted into a cannon bone.
”He is good after surgery, he has come through the surgery and is up and about.
”At this stage the vet finds no problem at all in him heading to burst, but it’s early days.
”Clearly it didn’t happen long ago, but the hope is that he makes a complete recovery.”
